We just returned from our maiden voyage in our new '06 Safari SE FB and we love it! Six months ago we purchased our first Airstream, a 22' International CCD, and fell in love with Airstreaming. After several trips we knew it was only a matter of time before we would tade-up to a larger more luxurious unit (I don't think my wife thought it would be so soon!). The Safair is the perfect blend of mod design and comfort.
I highly recomend Southwest Coaches in Irvine, CA. Troy and the rest of the team were terrific. We could not be happier. Looking forward to many more adventures.

Y'all indeed are Airstreamers of distinction and amazing good taste! Glad to see from your avatar that you got the double-ended panoramic. The stock rear pano and Vista Views make the primary living space so bright and airy!
I'll never have to "move up" -- the additional storage available with our twin bed 25' FB SE makes it a pocket long-distance cruiser!!
It took me a while to find a few little issues but I'm generally very pleased with our baby. We'd back-and-forthed on new vs. used and I'm glad the indecision turned to 'new' just as the Special Editions came to market. We were shopping before dealers even knew how popular the SEs would be, so got a fair discount at the time...
I've got the 22 CCD too... and yes the 25 FB appeals to me, too.
Too bad Vern Townsend (53FlyingCloud) left his A/S sales job. I also note from your avatar that you got one with the right hinged door - aka, not the famous "suicide door" that can open in the wind if you forget to lock it securely. On the earliest 25 FB's they forgot that the door would whack the awning support when the awning was open. I'm glad you're having so much fun in yours.

At the St. Paul, MN Sportsman's RV & Boat Show they had a new Safari SE 25 ft. for sale at $29,000 and some odd change with an MSRP of about $54,000. The catch? There was considerable hail damage on the back end. The dealer is Shorewood RV in Elk River, MN (northern Minneapolis suburb).

For the record this is one sweet floor plan for a 25 footer.
As much as we loved our 22' CCD there is no comparison with the 25' SE FB. The floor plan is open and yet creates the feeling of a seperate sleeping area. The sofa sleeper and dinnette both fold down to create a huge "L" shaped sofa. This works out great for viewing movies on the Sony flat panel. I know, I know, it's a rough life but someone has to live it.
The floorplan shown above is a 2005 model because it has the suicide door. 2006 models (and probably beyond) have the hinge at the front and latch against the side of the trailer as do 99% of other Airstream doors. Davydd? Do you know if the bargain hail dented unit was a 2005 or 2006?
We first walked through a 2005 25' FB (at Shoreview BTW). The latch mechanism to hold the door open at 90 degrees and keep it away from the awning arm was weak and already failing in a new trailer. I couldn't imagine it if any breeze was blowing.

My surprise and good fortune in preferring the twin was three cavernous outside-access storage compartments. Queen vs. twin has many other considerations -- desirability (of trailer! We gots no problems the other way!!) or resale might be an issue. I've seen a number of threads about how to convert from twins to queen, but never the other way around..
Dave -- the black & gray drains are just forward of the roadside wheels. The black, gray & fresh tank enclosures do protrude about 6" below the belly wrap on this and other high-capacity tank new models -- I think Silvertwinkie first recorded this in the Forums about 2005 models.
