Our '54 Liner...

Hi all! I've started a new thread in the right section to track my (new to me) 54 liner. We're going to get it this weekend! (sorry about posting the original thread under sovereign. I won't make any more updates to that thread.

Here are the pics from the other post. More pics and info coming this weekend, hopefully!

Looks great JP, can't wait to see what you do with it. After you finish the Footer of course.

Before I got my Overlander, I almost bought a 54 Cruiser with the same galley, bedroom, and side bath layout. It's a cool design and you'll have lots of options for it.

This will be a really cool project. Looking forward to watching it unfold. I like the roof vent. It really helps date the trailer to the right period. Is it aluminum or galvanized?

No clue. I haven't actually seen it in person yet. I'm planning on getting it Friday at lunch. I need to get my rescue gear ready. I'll take 4 wheels and tires (if they're 6 lugs), car jack and some axle grease. I don't think it will hurt to repack the bearings before I leave, or at the very least take a look at them.

It sounds like you'll have a busy lunch break.

Take a roll of aluminum tape. Tape windows, vents, anything that might be loose. Just remove the tape as soon as you get home so you don't have to deal with adhesive residue. Secure EVERYTHING in the trailer that may move. Take a bunch of 10 or 12 inch cable ties. They were my best friends when I got the 56.

It'll be ready by October 2012, just in time for the end of the world. We'll be taking the tradewind to hiawassee... IF they'll have me, that is! Gotta call today and see what's available.

Jason,

Ask the owner to take off a hub cap and check the number of lugs. My wheels were split rims, the ones on your trailer don't look like split rims.

Jason,

Welcome to this section and thanks for the company, it was getting lonely.

Maybe you could have a moderator merge your two threads, or not, it is up to you.
