My 1st Airstream

Hello,
We've just purchased our first AS, a 1968 Ambassador. We're in the process of doing a full restoration incorporating new technology along the way. It will have a custom floorplan with all new appliances. Expect to be finished with the restoration spring of 2010. Would like to get some info on joining an Airstream club. Also, need to know where we can purchase a 3-flag holder for the tongue of the trailer. Any help would be great! Will post pics as soon as possible.

Hello Mike and Teri, and welcome to the forum.

You should be able to find everything you need about the Airstream club, WBCCI, and the flag mounts here: www.wbcci.org

Good luck with your restoration.

Mike and Teri, welcome to this forum and congratulations on your vintage Ambassador! You already have wonderful plans and a schedule to be ready for the road next spring. As for an Airstream club, in addition to the WBCCI cited in the SteveH post above, you are now in one of the best, just by joining this forum. You'll find knowledgeable people here who become web friends, you'll be entertained, taught more than you can imagine about Airstreams-their maintenance and restoration, and you'll find exciting rallies of AirForum members located all around the country. We've been to AirForum rallies in Illinois and Florida for example and testify that they are great fun and well worth the travel to attend. For more on rallies, please see the rally listings at the bottom of the home page/portal. We hope to meet you on the road or around a campfire next year...~G

Hello,

Here are some pics of my '68 Ambassador before restoration. I'm having Mintage Airstreams of Missoula Montana do the restoration per my my specs. Should be ready for first trip in the Spring.

You are going to love your 68 Ambassador......we just recently got ours from Area63productions.com.......it is the perfect size for us and we are really happy with our rebuild.....I think is a better word than restoration.....we look forward to following your rebuild. Please post photos as you go along. paula

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Congratulations on your new baby.

You are kinda in an Airstream club already by joining these Forums. You can also join the WBCCI at WBCCI.org.

We were just in Livingston with Lucy a couple of months ago. It is a really nice town with many great examples of vintage architecture.
