Still on the fence about the bathroom. Some good news is I hooked up the Dometic refrigerator and it works. Very cool retro looking. With no moving parts it should last a long time. Looking forward to Alumaploosa next week at the mothership in Jackson Center OH, hoping to get some good ideas.

Removed the rotten floor section today. Lots of surface rust and a little rust through where some of the fasteners are. I would really like to remove the shell and properly repair, clean and paint the frame, but i am working outside and have no way to lift the shell. If I could do that I would replace the entire floor as well.

My refrigerator works too . . . . Have a blast in Ohio. I am planning on next year.

Give my regards to Rich Luhr, he's a great guy.

I'd love to see a summary post of highlights of what you learn there. Just the highlights, as it will likely be book worthy.

In case anyone is wondering I haven't given up but i am proceeding slowly. I was gone for three weeks on a trip to Custer SP SD, Yellowstone, The Teatons, and Ogden UT to visit my son. Came home to unbelievable heat and humidity that slowed me down as well. I did get the rotten floor section replaced and managed to get it in, in one piece. I've also have been removing interior skins. Most of the rivits came out easily, but some numbnuts along the way replaced some of the rivets with steel rivits. I decided to remove the skins to replace much of the wiring and insulation. I didn't want to start renovating only to later discover a problem that i missed and have to tear it apart again. I knew this was going to be a long process.

Yes i did complete it. Took it down to the bones and rebuilt it. Complete new subfloor, removed bathroom as we use campground facilities and wanted space for permanent beds. We also dont need to wait our turn at the dump station. All new cabinets and flooring, new stove and sink in kitchen with removable fresh and grey tanks under sink. Original propane refridgerator works.New axle and Goodyear Endurance tires.

Wow, turned out gorgeous. Thank you for pics! Getting ready to yank out the 3 bed/sofa bases in my 1961 and replace vinyl flooring which is in good shape, but ugly. And the divider wall which backs to the shower has a gap and needs fixing or replacing. Until something else arises, that will pretty much complete my reno

You may want to go further than that. When I removed the inside skins the walls were full of mouse mummies and broken down insulation. Wires were crumbling with cracked insulation around them. End caps had bird nests and remains where they got in through holes from missing lights. Under the subfloor was grass and debris varments brought in to make nests. Yours may be in better shape, but take the time to assess what you have before moving forward. Otherwise you may regret it. Anything can be fixed but you don't want to do a bunch of work only to have to go back and fix what you miss. Good luck!
