Water system needs heat tape - or some other system using my water heater to circulate through the pipes? I'm leaning towards heat tape as I think I will almost always have access to a plug if I am north in the winter. My plan is to spend more time south!

I still have condensation on the bottom of the bed when it is really cold, even with the holes. I need to raise the mattress on some kind of structure like a rigid version of a furnace filter - this would allow air to get to all parts of the bottom of the bed. Or, I might try putting a piece of foam insulation on the bottom and see if that keeps it from getting warm down there...

I would probably put something tougher in for the floor if I did it over... I like the wood in Theresa's flying cloud, I think it could be milled pretty thin to save on weight. I like the way a beat up wood floor looks, but a beat up cork floor just looks kind of beat up. And I tend to beat it up since it is a studio.

It could be that something like this product that I stumble across in a West Marnine catalog might help with the ventilation under the bed. It seems to be a little bit expensive but it could be just what you need.

I think that's why airstreams are good for parties - it's like the entire 'stream is the kitchen at a house party, you get crammed in with people you don't know. People gravitate towards that kind of diminished personal space...

I've been at my parent's home trying to finish off my airstream - for the last couple days I've been working on a super-insulated icebox. I used some information from these links:
