Just thought I post in the 1968 Sovereign topic as we own one. Alas, at the moment she is in the dry dock for some repairs but should be back in our hands in late September after working on some repairs to her water lines, floor, and Frame.. Neglected water leaks are the bane of any trailer, but I just couldn't believe that anyone would allow a leak to tear up the floor and soak into the frame enough to do damage.. Our lovely trailer is being restored to our needs not a moment to soon as my wife and I are having to go to the betty ford clinic for Aluminum withdrawls.. We must have her ready as we have reservations at Fort Desoto through Christmas.. Ahh the smell of the ocean and aluminum... I will post pictures of the damage and repairs if anyone is interested...

Hello David -- It sounds like a project. Some days the adventures will seem far away but keep fantasizing about them anyway! Of course we are interested in reports, pictures, secrets to the universe and everything.
Congratulations on your "new" Airstream. We purchased a 1968 Soveriegn back in April. Been working on it ever since then and finally took our "maiden voyage" a couple of weeks ago. Still a lot to do to it.
I was wandering what kind of refrigerator yours has. Mine was missing the refrigerator and I don't know what model to replace it with. The only information I have is an old Dometic owners manual, but it does not tell the model.

If you aren't restoring the trailer to original condition, take a tape measure and measure the area the fridge was, top to bottom, side to side, and front to back. Then get a new(er?) fridge that will barely fit in the hole.

The cutout is about 62" tall, and that is an expensive refrigerator. Was hoping to go with something smaller and less expensive.

Hello from a fellow Mississippian. We went with a $299 Lowes 110v for a SOB trailer we keep at our weekend property. Several forum members use 110v units with an inverter to keep it running during transit form site to site. I've done the same and it works fine as long as the TV has a charge line to the trailer battery.

Congrats on your Airstream. I too recently joined this website. I also have a 1968 Soveriegn. I think the refrigerator in my Airstream is original. It is a Dometic Model M70. The refrig does work. However, the previous owner disposed of the doors due to bad seals and rust. So, If you know where I can find any used refrig doors, please let me know! I hope you find what you need for yours. Enjoy America!

Check the forums' classifieds, there are ads for a couple of intact, but non-functional, fridges there now.

I purchased a 1968 sovereign, that is great on the outside, but a mess in the interior.... Does anyone know where I can get an original wiring diagram? or at least tell me where the origianal UNIVOLT was mounted? I haven't started ripping it apart yet....
Welcome to the forums! I also have a 1968 Soveriegn. My Univolt III is mounted under the bathroom sink. It has the 110V supply from the breaker box which is also on the exterior wall under the sink. The 12V goes through a couple of fuses located in the rear access door next to the breaker box.
Good luck finding a wiring diagram for your Soveriegn. Let me know if you find one, I need one as well. I also need a wiring diagram for the Armstrong Bay Breeze air conditioner. It's a TAC 110-1 model. I was told it might be on the back of the access panel to the controls. Mine is not there.
Again, welcome aboard and good luck.

Reason: left out a letter in the model number

The diagram may be on the roof, inside the shroud, on one of the steel covers.
