New Classifieds Page

We've been working on a new classifieds system to replace the old clunky one that's currently running Airstream Classifieds.

Tonight that page will go up and the old one will come down. None of the old ads will be deleted from the database and those with ads running will still be able to access their ads as needed.

Besides being more visually pleasing it's going to have some really nice improvements:
All trailers and motorhomes will be marked by year, make, model, length, condition, etc. This will allow for easier filtering (as seen in the drop down menus)
When a new ad is posted a new thread will be started here in the forums. When people post comments to the ads they will post here in the forums. This will give the ads more exposure from the forums which will hopefully increase the usage of the classifieds.
Once the move is made there will be some tweaks made to the page but overall this should be a VAST improvement. If you currently have an ad running and find that you have trouble with it after the change, please contact a site team member and we'll give you a hand getting it sorted out.

Thanks in advance for your patience as we transition to the improved platform - it's LOOOONG overdue

Great! Congratulations.

I'm a devotee of the Classifieds. I found my Excella there.

A trailer that was listed as sold on your old classified is now listed again. Are the ads going to be marked "SOLD" when they are sold like the old way, or removed? Also when I tried to email the seller I got an error message saying all feilds need to be completed, yet there was nothing more to complete. I would just feel bad for the seller that has already sold his trailer, but still get people inquiring about it. Also I couldn't find the feature to save an AD, has that been deleted, along with any ads I was saving, or is there another way now?

Why does everyone now days think things need to change? Newer? better? bigger? fancier? Don't like the new look, too busy and it is harder to navigate. SOMETIMES THINGS ARE BETTER LEFT ALONE.

Change is hard for some of us old timers.
It looks to me like you are generating a new revenue source with all the advertisements. Has the site developed a better search option or do we still use Google to find the articles we are looking for. When will the photos return for the items being sold etc?

From panheaddale... "Why does everyone now days think things need to change? Newer? better? bigger? fancier? Don't like the new look, too busy and it is harder to navigate. SOMETIMES THINGS ARE BETTER LEFT ALONE."

Agreed! I liked the older one just fine. Maybe there are some kinks to be worked out, or maybe I'm not navigating properly, but the new site doesn't seem to work for me. ?

When will the "Browse" function start working??? The page not found isn't good either:-(
When will Washington State be added to the states listed in the "Browse" search list?

Janet, Great job! I wonder if the classifieds will be more "mobile friendly"? To all others; Web page updates usually require what amounts to be thousands of lines of code, more often than not there are issues, usually these issues take a little time to sort out but the end result is typically much better and more streamlined than the original. Possibly the hardest thing to manage in any update is user change. Most people don't like change in any aspect of their lives. Hang in there, you folks are doing a fine job.

I just tried to contact a person about the part he has advertised in the "parts needed" section and have run right into a moderator. I wonder when and where my questions will be answered. I guess the old way of sending a PM isn't going to work anymore.

We expect code problems from Microsoft, not our sacred Air Forums Site

Hi, I tried to check my tow vehicle ad from this page by going to the classifieds page tab. Everything seems to be broken from here. Similar problem from the home page.

Also, when I tried to edit the ad to reduce the price on the truck from my dashboard using the "pencil" it wouldn't let me in. So, I opened the ad and tried editing from the "edit" link at the bottom and it just "rolls" the ad back up.

I am hoping that by giving you these specific problems I'm encountering, it will make it easier to clean things up. Thanks for all the hard work you've done.

It's Ok. If you plan to keep it I would create a search based on "location". Though it's nice to look at trailers online, it's even nicer when you know which ones are close to you.

Enjoy,

The direct links from the pull-down menu under the Classified tab at the top of the page do not seem to work. They all take you to a "Page not Found" location.

I'm new here so I haven't become accustomed to any particular look and feel. As a former site designer the new classifieds are a vast improvement to my eye.

I also am blocked from viewing classifieds. Does not recognize name or password, yet the forum recognizes name and password.

Folks we still have a lot of work to do here. Please hang tight for a day or so as we re-index and re-order info.
