Forum Policies Update
Recently there have been several additions to the forum policies. There is new language about font sizes in posts, signature lines and commercial content. Please take a minute to review the updated policies.
If you are one of the few affected by these changes and need some help changing your settings, PM a moderator and we will be happy to assist.

Also,
Please be helpful and limit the quotes in posts you are responding to. Respond, just don't include the quote in the repsonse unless necessary to make your point. Large quotes clutter the threads and make them less readable.
Thanks for your understanding.

I do kind of wish there was a "no political threads" policy. Most of the people using this site seem to be good people. However, when the political threads get started some will always feel self-righteous in their views and others will always feel their ideals are being attacked. I think there are other places to carry on these kind of debates. It would be nice to keep this Airstream forum "Politics free" and focused on the enjoyment we all get from our rigs. I do realize that I can "just say no" to reading the political threads.

Dave, I have to concur with Alan. The nature of Airstream owners is to be involved and active. It's a healthy outlet, and even if you think one of your friends' opions is that of a wing-nut, it doesn't have to make your friendship any less solid. In my humble opinion, I appreciate everyone who takes time to state a perspective in those threads. We are a cross-section of society, and as long as the discussions stay grounded and opposing points of view are espoused, I find it educational.

ALANSD, I think you need to clarify your post about using quotes for those who are not familiar with the "how to".
You can limit the quote only to the point you wish to make by simply highlighting and deleting the irrelevant info between the quote marks, i.e.

I got into the habit of quoting what I was responding to, because some forum members were posting, then when another forum member responded, the original poster would edit his or her post, and make the person replying look like an idiot. Some other forum members may be quoting for the same reason.
This doesn't seem to be so much of a problem since the "15 minute rule" was put into place.

the quotes really only become an issue when they are so long. often longer than the response.

Is it just me...
... or this new policy? Maybe it's part of Andy's community downtime and software revisions this weekend, but I can't get underlines, hyperlinks, smilies within body of a post, etc to work this morning. I wouldn't really mind some of this getting shut off but the hyperlink function is great.
Thanks for the good job moderators! One and all!!  ad infinitum!

The link to the policies doesn't work anymore. Can someone tell me where it moved to?
Thanks!

Yup, I was going to read the policies, too, but the link leads to nowhere. (I'm a commercial vendor, so really wanted to read, but I also wanted forward the policies on to a friend of mine who has just started a forum and REALLY needs some policies!)

I updated the link in the first post of this thread. If you know of other broken links, please let me know so I can fix them.
The main way to view our community policies is at the link on the bottom of every page. The "Community Rules" page are specific to this community and the Terms of Service are the same for all Social Knowledge forum communities.
