I can't see what all the excitement is about. Maybe I'll have to use both interfaces until I can see that the iPad App offers some real advantage. So far it just seems strange.

There is probably much less advantage over the full site on an iPad vs a smartphone. It's vastly better than using the full site via browser on my Android phone, but I never had the opportunity to try on an iPad or an Android tablet.
Using the full site in the browser on my phone was tedious even on a wifi connection, probably because it was downloading and rendering lots of extraneous junk that this mobile app filters out.

Many thanks! We'll use it on an iPhone until Springtime when the next version of the iPad is released and then use that.

OK, I have this app on my iPhone and I have a little red number 2 by the icon but cannot find anything within the app that tells me where the new messages/posts/etc that this represents can be found - can somebody point me in the right direction?

On the Android version, I find I need to click the refresh-page button. Then I'll see a bubble in the upper right corner of each thread that has new responses since I read it last.

Yeah, that one confused me for a while too. At the bottom right there is a "button" with More under three dots (rivets perhaps?). Pressing "More" brings up a menu page, the top of which is "Subscribed" (like going to the list in "User CP." When you have read the posts in subscribed threads the number will go away.

No advantage on the IPAD that I can see. I prefer the full site.

Love the iPhone app! I actually prefer it to the live site. So much cleaner.
A couple of questions though:
The only way I can figure out how to reply on a thread it to reply to someone else's post, which ends up quoting them. Is there a reply-to-thread button anywhere?
Also, are user icons all supposed to be the default blue man's silhouette? I can't see anyone's actual icon (which is how I generally recognize users).

Problem with iPad app
When I open the title bar I can type.(opens my keyboard)
When I open the message box my keyboard will not open.
I need to push the little (window/arrow) button in the lower right and open in Safari. But then I'm not logged in to Airforums.
What am I doing wrong?

Does anybody else not want the app, but had to either hit "cancel" or be forced to download the app in order to use the site? This is the second time I hit "cancel" and not dismiss the app. Then I have to wait for it to download and install, then delete it to get rid of it.
And of course iTunes doesn't want me getting rid of it...
Any suggestions on how to get rid of the app popup forever without running my phone through a blender?

Go to iTunes, on the left side of the screen under library click on apps. Select the app to delete and then go to the very top of the screen hit edit, and under there click on delete. It will ask if you want to sent to trash or a folder, select trash and it should be gone. Sync your phone and it should be off the phone.

Didn't have any trouble getting rid of it but I didn't like the way it displayed the page. I think they had to trim a few to many features to get it to work, so it is gone.

I have the app, but just opened the forums in Safari. I got the prompt to get the app and "dismissed forever". Now when I open the forums in Safari, I don't get a prompt. But I have the app installed.
So why not just leave the app installed but don't use it?

For whatever reason, mine doesn't have the "dismiss forever" option. It's "dismiss indefinitely" and "indefinitely" seems to be nearly every time I go on the forums with my phone. As for why I don't leave the app loaded and not use it, every time I go to the forum, the app tries to (and usually does) load. Then the app is fighting with my browser as to what I am going to use...
I'm ordinarily a pretty tech savvy guy, but either my phone or the app seems to be going out of its way to honk me off.
Oh, and my wife has the exact same phone, and has none of these issues with it. It may be something in the phone itself.
