Chat room update...

I have just finished installing an enhanced version of the chat room that will require an active member account here on the forums to login. Previously it just asked you to type your name in and we had problems with people logging in as others and causing problems.

I am waiting for a confirmation code fromt he chat room vendor for our upgraded account and will get the chat room opened ASAP. I am hoping to have the new chat room open for this evenings chat in the next few mintutes.

Also please note there is a new drop down menu to show you who is currently chatting (updates every minute) and also a new link from the top (in case you had it bookmarked), here si the new link:

Okay, it almost works. I got a message saying the chat room is closed, that will probably change when you get it running, hopefully shortly. Many of us are going to have chat withdrawals...

I know, I appologize. I have also sent an email to the chat room vendor to find out when the upgrade will be applied to the account. Then I will just have to plugin some configuration changes and we will be set.

Also, I was thinking it might be cool to have themed chat sessions where certain days were focused on certain topics.

I think themed chats would be great. Sometimes the once a week chat gets so 'chatty' it's hard to actually have a conversation about something. It's still a lot of fun though!

I like the who's chatting drop down. I could see that leading to more impromptu chats

Chat was good while it lasted, about 5 minutes. I got booted, and now chat is giving me a 404 eror.

Try it again. you might have to click the forum tab and then the chat link. It's a bug I have to iron out...

'Official' chat time is 7:00 MST every Tuesday eveneing. Informal chats may occur at anytime...to keep from being bored with yourself, invite someone to join you next time!

Best way is to PM someone & set a date or catch them online...
