Wireless camera system
Interested in a wireless rear camera for FC 28, not just for backup but for lane changing, etc. when interstate driving. Any advice on brands?

While it is expensive, it works. Our Voyager camera is permanently mounted above the Classic's rear window and gets power from a light fixture in the rear roof locker above the twin beds.

If you have an iPhone, I use THIS ONE that uses my phone as the monitor. I'm very happy with it. Much less expensive than Voyager.

We also use a Voyager. It is pricey, but it works.

We also installed voyager, I had factory mount it when we went to J C
I use the video in on our rand Mcnally gps. It is easy to switch between gps map and rear video. It has been flawless

I mounted an inexpensive webcam to the storage locker over the rear window, looking out through the window. I put a wireless router in the front living room to act as a relay in case the signal from the camera wasn't strong enough. I use a free cam viewer app that is available in iOS and Android. It runs on my iPAD or an Android tablet and my iPhone. Both the camera and the router coincidentally run off 12V.
I had all this stuff on hand, so the cost to me was $0. If you had to buy the camera and wireless router, the pair would probably run you as little as $50 to as much as $200 depending on your selections.

I found an inexpensive $125 baby monitor that I mounted in the back window. The monitor is 5" and is really clear.

Rear View Camera on Airstream
I have the Voyager, installed at the factory prior to delivery. This is very helpful for lane changing once one understands the depth perception issues. It covers nearly 180ş, and is very helpful to see vehicles which are overtaking me. Also, when backing up this helps to prevent running over a picnic table or whatever is hidden back there.
I have mine on continuously when on the road, runs off the clearance light power in rear. So, on when lights are on.
A second and third camera can also be added but must be hard wired to the monitor. Only one wireless camera is allowed with the Voyager.

I use the same one as Wayne&Sam and have commented on it in other posts. In short, it is perfect and had I had one of these in the beginning, I would have saved several thousand dollars in rear panel replacements before I learned to never ever back up without a spotter. Jim

My router is a Linksys WRT54G Version 6. They are old now, but still available (new and refurbished) on Amazon for less than $30.

You will want to find a webcam viewer that has the capability to reverse the image left-to-right and maybe flip it upside down, depending on how you mount the camera. Mine is IP Webcam Free, or something like that. It works great, just like having my rearview mirror back.

It's your money and your decision, but with camera systems you get what you pay for.

I'm not trying to convince you to buy my iPhone camera system, only that I've seen and heard of folks investing a lot of time and effort installing a "home-grown" system using cheap components that end up being dissatisfied with the results.
A wired backup camera is one thing, but a wireless rear view mirror camera system is a whole different animal. Just saying.

Wireless camera system
I got a Summers Wide View, works great. Really good color monitor and you can have up to 4 cameras. I just hook it to my back window latch and it gives me just what I need. Powered it by an inverter in the trailer.
