Wifi

Has anyone experience with the PDQ wifi extender hot spot? Their ad says it reaches out 15-20 miles and pulls in all wifi, it's a little pricey and I was wondering if any of you have given it a try..
Thanks
Bob

WiFi or cell data? WiFi started out with about 100 foot range, now 100 yards maybe?

Web content from a hot spot is usually cell data rebroadcast on WiFi.

Something new?

Bob if you are on a boat strict line of sight over water maybe. Reality on an Airstream not likely. Good support with great products look at www.wifiranger.com. Solid products and most excellent support.

Wifi

We have a Wave WiFi Rogue WAVE (Ethernet converter/Bridge) and wireless router. The antenna is mounted on an aluminum painter pole and supported by a base held tight by tongue weight. Works well with the only downside is more and more wifi broadcasts are secure. Even my router is secure but can share my password with neighbors when asked.

More than 60 wireless networks found when initially setup. Works well to strengthen a weak signal.

wi-fi range extender

Check out the ALFA external Wi-Fi adapter on Amazon. It's small, powered by the computer USB port, has a 3 ft. cable, and a gain antenna. Put it in the window of your Airstream and connect to Wi-Fi at least 100 ft. away. Price: $35

A discussion has already started on the PDQ. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f452...ts-160873.html

I don't think think the antenna can do the best for all three. See jwgreen's comment about frequencies. I'm getting ready to drive from Portland OR to Casa Grande AZ testing a couple of different systems dedicated to cellular signal boosting along the way.
