Last night was a good example, perfect HD picture when 3 bars of signal, plane overhead Zero, fade in and out due to atmospherics no picture or sound. With analog it would have been good then maybe fair but not total loss.
Also distance upper channels will travel is limited more than vhf, uhf never was a good choice for weak signal areas. Most CG's I go to are not in the city, however last night at Silver Springs State Park almost in Ocala couldn't get local without precise direction on antenna, with amplifier I could get Orlando and G'ville but very touchy about missing by .5 degrees.
Any good omnidirectional antennas out there?
