Tip for updating locals with Dish
I've had some issues with Dish reps not correctly switching over my locals as I move to new areas, so I asked one who knew their stuff what I can tell the reps who don't what to look for. He said to tell them to "look in their sidecar and verify that the DMA is updated/correct"
So for example I am currently in the Spokane DMA.
Hope this helps someone. So once again, the keywords are "sidecar" and "DMA"
The reps seem to frequently update the service address and they think this automatically will update the DMA but frequently it does not.
The clue that I have an agent that is clueless is that they usually try to get me to do a power reset or check switch.
When I get an agent that know their stuff they tell me they should update in 10 to 15 minutes, and if they don't THEN I might want to do a power reset. I don't usually have to do a power reset though, and it seems like if i try an OLD locals channel while I am still on the phone I get a message that I am unauthorized for it. That's what gives me confirmation "it's all going to be okay now!" LOL
