instead of using a PC or a laptop

i sue a small Alfawise Z83 box.

its so small it fits ion the wall
i use a wireless keyboard and mouse and display through the VGA/HDMI port of the TV/monitor
audio plays out through the overhead speakers

i have added the follwoing last year

• wifi extender
• 4g/5G cell extender
• local inside hotspot
• 1G 8 port Ethernet switch

the z83, along with my victron gear plug into the switch

Great find. Really only 4x4 inches? Does it throw off much heat (could it survive in one of the upper cabinets w/roll cover closed)?. Our main unit is a Mac mini but my cameras require a PC running Axis Companion.

How does the Victron gear use the LAN/Internet?

Have you moved to a 1080p display yet? My last trailer had a 720p tv/dvd combo unit w/hdmi input and my computers always struggled with it, especially playing movies off the hard drive. I’m not sure why, maybe because no manufacturer makes 720p computer monitors.

I am finding these 4K 27” monitors incredibly flexible, especially in their 1080p and some of the other <4K resolutions.

I was about to pull the trigger on a very expensive ($250+) "double D" hole knockout bit to install a weatherproof ethernet RJ45 receptacle on the 22fb's outside skin when I remembered a friend of mine gave me one of these MoCA adapters in the past. Back when we trenched the lot for this stuff I had run out of direct burial CAT5 to this pedestal and only had dual coax. On Ebay I found a new pair of the early gen (my broadband speed out here is only 5mb/sec) versions for only $61 and just tried them out with the 22fb's TV inlet jack (amp off) and it worked like a charm! My Apple TV 4K unit now never skips a beat and I am now able to hardwire, through a couple of adapters, my iPad for flawless Airplay when neccesary.

BTW these things do have TV in/out's on them so you can maintain what you got going with them if you need to.
