Gee it's quiet in here

The Sony MEX DV 2200 in my 2011 23FB Flying Cloud quit making sound. It only makes click noise when I change channels. The light comes on and that's about it. I've searched the internet and this product is discontinued. There is a giant rat nest of wires behind the unit and everything appears to be connected. Any chance for a do-it-yourselfer to replace this with a comparable unit? What would be a comparable unit?

I came across some troubleshooting tips in the online manual.

There's also a 10 amp fuse in there someplace, mentioned about page 56
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/10...page=57#manual

At worst, it shows how to remove it, looks like a DIN mount, pretty standard stuff.

Sony stuff is usually pretty reliable, so maybe it's a simple fix?

Yes, many have

Check out this thread, one of many on upgrading the audio:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f450...de-161787.html

And yes, what JC puts in these trailers is, shall we say, barely adequate, poorly installed, completely unbalanced, and, I could go on, but you get the idea. Anyone who takes this stuff seriously replaces these systems first thing.

Search the forum for A/V, or audio or video and you will find tons of threads, many with pics from those who have already done it.
