I had posted elsewhere:

... about whether or not one major battery brand was seemingly failing/leaking/exploding with a greater preponderance than does another brand. More specifically, I questioned something to the effect that "copper tops" might actually fail/leak/explode with a greater preponderance than do "bunny drummers," or whether or not there is a confirmation bias at play.
Remembering that I hadn't followed my own advise to replace all of my batteries within the past year, I pulled a large assortment of my battery-powered "toys" ... I thought I was using more bunny drummers than copper tops ... but promotional sales might have caused me to buy more copper tops than I had realized. But this will happen no more! I had 4 more devices with copper tops that had failed. I caught 3 of them very early so clean-up will be much easier. This isn't a statistical analysis ... one can argue that I am using more copper tops than bunny drummers, so it stands to reason that the copper tops are failing at a higher frequency. But, I can't remember any bunny drummers failing in the last few years that I've been paying attention. Bottom line: I will be experimenting with the transition to 100% employment of bunny drummers.
I'm curious as to how many of you have experienced failures and whether or not you have observed any indications that one battery brand seems to be better or worse than another.
Looking forward to your replies...
Take care,
Rich
