hi sun dogs....

yep this thread still matters.

many of us are regularly "chasing 65-70 degree temps"

all the recommendations are still current,

well except that pre-katrina site near nola...

wonder if that park is back in action yet, tin sista ?

steamboat? well that's a stretch for winter unless u r all about skiing.

keno bay? i like that one and some of us are planning to check out the area this year.

wanna tell us/me more about your time in keno bay?

i love details!

yep lewster i'd love to read more about some florida spots,

and especially with your experience in the sunshine state...

so pm be with some specifics when there is time.

thanks for the updates folks,

but it's 68 degrees outside right now...

gotta go!

cheers

I just joined so this 'old' thread is 'new' to me! I love reading these vignettes of people's lives on the open road. It sounds very alluring. We still have a kid at home in the tenth grade, so are a few years from doing anything full-time but it sounds great. I still love my house though and think I would miss having it.. I think...

Keep these stories coming, folks.

We stay at Travelers Rest just north of Tampa. Previously an all airstream park, now open to all brands. It is a large, active park located amid orange groves and horse farms. includes a 9 hole USGA rated golf course. Their web page will give you much more information. Travelers Rest Resort - Dade City, Florida If you can't find many things to interest you, you must be dead.

The past two winters we spent all or part of Jan-Feb at Dateland Az in a little private RV park{Oasis RV} . Just a few sites , maybe 25-30-very reasonable $ by the month. It's out in the Aztec hills just off I-8 midway between Yuma and Gila Bend. Many of the same people come there year after year but not clickesh. Pool and cabana for your use but no entertainment or activities except an ocasional pot luck or thursday night campfire. Animal friendly-hiking and ATV out your back door. This year we'll be at Araby Acres, an RV resort in Yuma. Wanted to try something different this year. On the edge of town, rated very good. Hope to make a few trips out of there this winter over to southern Ca. This will be our first experience with a "Resort" type park. Have a site rented Dec thru March

ingrid has been coming here for 25 years. i think she likes it ;-)
mostly regulars during peak season, openings gets to be very limited and i don't think you can beat the rates for what you get. no wi-fi yet (4 phone lines available at the office), no cable tv or phone lines at the spot, only water, sewer, and electric 30a & 50a available. i guess it's like luxury, boondocking, lol.

We are spending the winter at Sun N Shade Resort in Punta Gorda Florida. Quiet, peaceful, not too far out of the way. It will have wi-fi starting November 1, it currently has a heated pool, and for you people that like it, horseshoes and shuffleboard courts.

hi pdq and welcome to the forums!

i agree with you.

and when it's sub 30 (like right NOW) it warms me to learn about...

toasty places to visit with the a/s...

now we just need folks to add a few more suggestions, throw in some 'hot' photos and...

keep looking for eternal 70s!

cheers

Hey 2air, yes Abita Springs RV Resort is back in action. If you go the brew pub is great! If you haven't tried Abita beer or rootbeer its really good, Amber is nice, turbo dog is easy to find up north! The park had trouble just cause of all the tree problems and no people available to fix them. Its well north of the causeway over Lake Ponchatrain, but not too far to camp and visit the French Quarter or other spots...and the water tastes great there too!
