TN is dropping RV'ers from its voting rolls.
I'm not a full time RV'er but noticed this in my local paper. Tennessee is dropping full time RV'ers from its voting rolls. The ACLU-TN is gearing up to fight this as well as the Good Sam Club from what I read, anyone interested should probably contact the ACLU-TN or the Good Sam Club. Also you can email our state senators/representatives through the TN state home page.

It looks like the ACLU lost this one - their case against Tennessee was dismissed.

This is interesting, given the fact that here in Kalifornia, you can use a tree as your place of residence.

Wow, that just borders on outragious. So according to the judge, a homeless person can point to a park bench and say that is home, but since RV folks can not point to one place...they don't fall under the law. Let me sort th9is out...if you live under a tree, and say you live under a tree, you an vote, but if you live in an RV...you don't count. Does any one see a missing cog in that logic gear or is it just me:/

Not sure why Tn. is attacking this issue. Texas has a much larger group of full timers, those regestered with Escapee.
My question has long been why are the absentee votes not counted before the polls close and included in the results. Even with the Networks declare the winner before the polls close and long before the absentee votes are counted. Are they ever counted?

My guess is that TN does not have State Income tax and therefore has attracted a lot of RV fulltimers due to that.

Betcha the bureaucrats don't mind collecting all of the other "fees" & "charges" from all of their full-time-rving-residents, though!

That seems to sum it up nicely.
Call me a cynic but...... I think that although the RV industry is not too happy with that ruling, the ACLU may be just fine with it. The voting rights of transients and homeless in Tennessee are protected without having to justify why ACLU resources went to defending the excesses of an RV lifestyle.
