Checking out of the Hotel California

After a year and a half in California, and meeting a lot of great people, and seeing a lot of cool stuff, I've been offered a position with an Airstream dealer back East.
While I can't go into the reasons why I felt a move back was necessary, we feel this is a really good opportunity, and we look forward to living and working here. The people are more laid back, more outgoing, and don't seem to be "out to get you".
Tentatively, I'll be working in the service department of Out Of Doors Mart, and try to fill some holes in their staff. If any of y'all want your trailer or motor home "fixed on", come by and see us/me there.
I'll be posting about our trip there in upcoming installments...

Terry, that sounds great!

Wish you had posted this last week. We just came back from Danville VA where Susan was racing at VIR. We were only 61 miles from you. We'll let you know in advance next time we make the trip to VIR for a race event, possibly you can come up for a visit and watch some good vintage racing.

Congrats on the new job and I hope it works out well for you.

By the way, have the reopened I-40 east and west between NC and Tennessee?

Brad

Brad,

I-40 is not re-opened as of last week. We had to take the detour when we came in.
Look forward to seeing you and Susan, as well as all of our friends here in the east.

Marie

Sophie has charmed everybody along the way.

There was a small issue with the window awning in New Mexico. For some reason it came unfurled in the 75 mph winds we encountered, and we had to stop and replace the hold down latch.
The Burb averaged 7.2mpg on the way---gulp...

Hope you enjoy your new life, Terry. It's good to see that you're really back in the swing of things now. From what little I've experienced of it, OODM seems lke a great place. I know you will do your darndest to make it even better!

Bill,
I wish we had been able to get together again before we left because I still have very fond memories of the barbecue at your house and meeting your family. Sophie sends you a woof. I hope you can get out here, or we can meet in the middle of the country for a rally.

Marie

My husband and I will be full timers the last week of this month! We have thought long and hard about this and with early retirement in place why not!?

We will be work campers at Acorn Acres RV Park Acorn Acres RV Park and Villas Home page, Ozark Mountain camping near Branson Missouri, Celebration City, and Table Rock Lake in Branson Missouri this year...so please come visit the park.... it is very quiet and the sites are spacious.
The park is on 76hwy only 1 1/2 miles west of Silver Dollar City.....and the 76' strip.

We are trying to tie up loose ends and get moved out of our house in 10 days!!!!
Jack is working to finish a few things in the camper before we go and we haven't boxed a thing.....YIKES!!!! Wish us luck

Congratulations to both of you on the new job and the move, and best of luck. I've already found OODM to be quite helpful in the renovation of your Goliath, and I'm sure I will continue to do so.

Best,
-Marcus

I do wish you the best of luck and fond memories. We are not able to travel right now, because on Monday I start a new job with a new company.

When we do get the chance to travel, I really want to go to the Branson area as I miss Missouri and would like to spend some time there. You will enjoy full timing, I know I did.

See you down the road.

Marie

Sorry I missed you two on your way east. Seems about impossible to meet up with anyone these days. No doubt we will finally meet on the road someday though.
