Summers In Canada

I'm sure this topic has been addressed before, but I couldn't find any mention of it when I searched the forums. I suddenly remembered that a decade or two ago I had an uncle that lived in Canada half the year and Arizona the other half. He did this to take advantage of the Canadian health system. He was an American citizen, but evidentially if you spend a certain number of months a year in Canada you can get health benefits there. I don't want to start a debate about health care systems, but I am curious if anyone knows anything about this. About the only thing keeping me from retiring right now is the fact that I won't be old enough to qualify for Medicare for another 15 months. Thanks.

Mr Bill

I'm sure you have to be a landed immigrant or have permanent resident status to take advantage of our heath care system or take out visitor health insurance.

Search the Government of Canada web site for more info.
