I used to live in the Oakland section... whilst at the U of Pitt. It's city! No place to camp. You might look out towards monroeville - it's about a 20 minute comute - if it's not rush hour.

There is not enough money on this planet to cause me to tow a trailer in oakland neighborhoods - kinda like the streets in Paris. Narrow, tight, crowded, no way out - shaking in my shoes now....

How about WBCCI courtesy parking in that area?

Let's have a polishing party: I'll supply the trailer and buffing supplies. BYOB (bring your own buffer)

State Park

The only campground that I can think of is Raccoon Creek. It's a state park and they have some nice spots, they're about 45 min from Oakland. There are no campgrounds in or near Oakland that I know of. (As already stated that's in the city) I purchased my AS in Mckeesport (south of pgh) and towed it north to Erie, and it wasn't a fun trip through the area, the roads are narrow and the turns are sharp. Raccoon Creek is just off of 22-30 which connects to 60 in Robinson and that will take you to Pgh.

FYI The park closes for the season on the 10/16

Good Luck,
