On the move! Billings here I come!

Anyone here from/around Billings, MT? Looks like I am relocating there and will need a place to park the trailer for a while. I would love to be able to store it safely for low cost or I may have to sell her.

Full timing in Billings is not advised. temps get below 0 in the winter.
Idealy I would love to have a small apartment or rent a room somewhere. One problem, Sarah, the very well behaved cat.

I am open for suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

This may be of interest:

Cozy 2 bdrm House

If it's a standalone house you may be able to store the Airstream there as well, and it does say pets negotiable, so how could they not fall in love with Sarah..

Good luck.

Barry

WOW!
I sent her a message. If it has a driveway thats 2 problems solved for a reasonable price. I can swing that. Not sure what the neighborhood is like. Guess I will find out.

We just moved from Billings and yes brrrrr - not ideal for full timing! The area of that rental is pretty good. Older but most of the homes are well cared for. It's not a bad part of town. There are some areas you might not be interested in living so feel free to post again if this one doesn't work out. It's rare to find a place that takes pets so that's a plus!

We have some property in Columbus which is not too far from Billings. I'm not sure if there are any rentals open at the moment but I know for sure there is parking available - tho it is outside. PM if interested.

On the advertisement you can Google map it, then select satellite to Google earth it to get a sense of the neighborhood in real life.

You may want to run a Wanted ad in Craigs list in Billings for what you need with various options that would work for you..........

You might also keep an eye on, or post an advt on the Billings paper on line

BillingsGazette.com ::

One other thing - check the Forums members map to see if anyone lives there and PM them to ask if they have any recommendations.

Did you happen to ask the landlord of the place you missed if they had any suggestions?

I'll keep digging and see what else i can find that might work.

Sorry. The Forums map has been on the fritz for 3+ months. This is one of many issues we're aiming to address when it's worth the time -- after a major software upgrade (this fall?).

I just Googled RV storage in Billings and there seem to be a number of possibilities. Although it is nice to have your Airstream just outside your door, it might be easier to find a satisfactory home rental without the need to find storage for the trailer. Whatever you do, don't sell it! Just think how much it will cost you to replace it when your circumstances change again. And if you do sell it, your contributions to the forum will surely diminish and we do not want that!

In that list I found this one. There's several other potentials I guess. You might want to post a wanted advt as well..........and I noticed there's even a trailer lot for rent.

Try networking this

Michelle,
Call the guys at the fire bombing facility there. With your background, and what you will be doing, they might be a great help. They might even have a place to store the Airstream while your in training. Who knows, they may even have an open seat in a B-26 for your days off.

A couple of weeks ago Ameriflight called me. They lost the contract and are closing the Base. They offered me Portland, OR instead. Not bad. I just hope I can get my medical back and fly again.

We're hoping for you Michelle.

Geez, Portland, what a tough place to have to work out of .

In my whole career no one ever offered to let me work out of a place that nice.
