A friend of mine stays here:
La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages

You're going to full time in a 19'?

Shade matters a great deal. Plus a big awning. The more time outside, the less cramped one will feel inside.

Thanks for the advise REDNAX, that's what we're hoping, we spend so much time at work too, we'll see.

Also, that place would be too far from work.

My husband and I and a little doll faced persian, are full timing in South Austin (July made a year for us) and loving every minute of it. We are living in a 34' so a 19' sounds pretty small to me. My advice, dont load it up with stuff you dont need and keep it simple. You will be much happier if you prevent the clutter. There are several parks with full time spots, depending in which part of town you want to live.

Not knowing how far in north Austin you prefer to be located, I do know the following RV Park is located on the far east side of Austin (not far from the 130 Toll Road and not far from Hwy. 183) and gets nice reviews:
Austin Oak Forest RV Park | Main

If you want to be in far north Austin then you may want to consider one of the following:
Round Rock (northeast side of Austin)
Old Settlers Park => Old Settlers Assoc. RV Park Review and Rating

Georgetown (northeast side of Austin)
Berry Springs RV Park => Berry Springs RV Park: Georgetown's Newest RV Park!
New Life RV Park => New Life RV Park Georgetown, TX
Georgetown Lake Corp of Engineers - Cedar Breaks Park => U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Georgetown Lake Home Page

Leander (northwest side of Austin)
Leander / NW Austin KOA => Leander / NW Austin KOA | Camping in Texas | KOA Campgrounds

Lago Vista (far northwest side of Austin)
Idyll Glenn RV Park => CEDAR PARK TX. RV PARK IDYLL GLEN (512)394-6071

Liberty Hill (far northwest side of Austin)
Rio Bonito RV Park => Rio Bonito Cabin Cottage rentals RV park austin texas hill country

Hope these options for consideration help you out. I'm envious and would love to be making the transition from a home to fulltiming in the Airstream. Have fun!

I think the only one available is Oak Forrest so we're going to try that out. The only problem is going to be the drive to work at the arboretum. Thanks for the advise.

We don't have much and are pretty minimal, the only thing is we love to cook, but we hope to have a nice outdoor cooking area. And the closest to the arboretum the better.

I hope you find a good place in Austin to settle in.

My aunt and uncle have traveled all over the country in a small Airstream. He always has had an interesting way of putting things. He told me "Dan, when you are living in them they are all too small, and when you are towing them, they are all too big." So true. Of course, they never had a big honkin TV like most people have now days. Their largest TV was probably a full size station wagon.

Just seems a bit cramped to me. Airstreams are not known for their storage. I see these class A motorhomes pulling their garage behind them and that would probably be me!

Did you checkout the Pecan Grove RV park on Barton Springs? The drive from there wouldn't be bad. There would be many routes to get back home depending on the time. And lots of conveniences near by.

Call Texas Storage Park on 620. They may have a spot with hookups. 512-331-1022.
