Thank you for your interest. Its crazy how time flies. Jenna and I love Airstream life. We got married in Maui in June of 2011 and just celebrated our second anniversary. We are still residing at my sister & Brother-in-law’s place and both working full time. My wife graduated Oregon State University with her Bachelor of Science in Environment Science recently and has begun the job hunt. With a continued recovering economy she may remain in her current position for a little while. I received a promotion at work and am commuting to about 30 miles a day as opposed to the 2 miles I was before. We have taken our AS out a couple dozen times, boondocking mostly but have been to a few full hook-up campsites. We prefer state parks with plenty of privacy, hook-ups are overrated. Are furthest trip we put nearly 800 miles behind us and we are looking forward to even longer escapes from our parking spot J
As I mentioned before we have a room (more like a glorified closet) and a bathroom at my sister’s so we never needed to connect the sewer. We pull it out often enough to dump the tanks. We did wire in the electrical. We also utilized the warranty a lot more often than I thought we would have. I must have taken our AS in for minor repair at least a dozen times. I think at this point everything has been taken care of. We are looking into adding the extended warranty too.
Finding the right appliances for creating the perfect year-round comfort level took a bit of work. I believe I created or shared on other threads for Dehumidifiers and Heaters, as well as Vacuums. Dyson seems to go hand-in-hand with Airstream living!
We financed our 27FB through family at 5.25 percent and have been making extra payments to get things paid off sooner. Things are tight for us but it will all be worth it when we own our vacation home and can begin saving for our second home on the water: Yes, Jenna and I want a 42ft sailboat for our second home. We are leaning towards the Beneteau Oceanis but that is several years down the road. I am fortunate to have many friends who sail and we just love being on the water.
I know I promised pictures and I do apologize for not uploading any but I will set right that promise.
Hope you all enjoy our little story. Please feel free to ask how things are going anytime! I will try to get in her every so often to give you all an update!
