May soon be full-timing for a while

We are in transition time in my family. Long story short, I am single. My father lost his job of 28 years in 2002 due to a European firm buyout along with his pension two years away. They came to live with me 14 years ago and he has used that time to build a nest egg and I have benefitted too by sharing costs. Now I am one year from retirement as an educator and he, still working is wanting to retire with me.

Fast forward, we have fixed the house up to sell it. They will rent something if sold and I will be in limbo. I plan to use the trailer if possible. I haven't figured out an affordable way yet to do this locally. We plan to relocate to the same area, most likely St. Augustine, after the house is sold and we both retire. In the meantime, any inside tips on getting decent fees for parks? I always planned on 3-4 months when I bought it but not this per se though I am glad i have the option and the stream!

For long-term use they often have special pricing, sometimes need to sign up a few months ahead. Also there are travel clubs, we joined Thousand Trails for one year and saved about a third on a three month rental at a decent RV resort.
Talk to the resort manager, they might deal if they can keep a space filled all year, they don't like empty sites providing no rent.

Thanks. I know this all may seem obvious to some but there seems to always be something to learn!

Travelers Rest Resort in Dade City is a great spot. A yearly site is about $3200. Unless you want to move around a lot it would be a great deal for full timing. Not so good a price by the month. Three months rental is about the same as a year. You pay electric which runs about 40 a month in the winter. Check the web site and take a ride up to look at it. Not so far from Ft Meyers. At least you will find out what a good place can look like.

Monthly rates are usually very good (in non-resort areas!), but most do charge for electricity. Shop around to find the best pricing if you can. Yearly rates are even better...

Most star and federal parks don't allow long term rentals. In Texas, it's 29 days but if you move to another site, it starts over...

There are places where you purchase and own your site. It might be an option favorable to you.

Go to workamper.com...and explore. You may discover a variety of ways to get your campsite free, including utilities, and paid for your work...if so inclined.
