Has anyone upgraded their mattress? Suggestions?

We have a 27ft, Classic Twin. My husband is 6'4' tall and I am just a little over 5ft. Went to the Original Mattress Factory with a brown paper drawing/pattern of how wide and long we wanted the bed, and 1.5 weeks later, he was a really happy camper. Excellent comfort, fits the curve, and at a great price.

So much great information, thanks all for advising! After reading and rereading this thread we are leaning towards a traditional mattress and will choose from something mentioned here. I too look forward to sleeping through the night without significant discomfort.

We replaced our horrible $20 factory equipment mattress with a Tempurpedic and all is well.

We ordered a sweet custom short queen mattress with individual pocketed coils and sooo much squish, from Jordan mattresses and bedding. Picked it up yesterday and slept on it like a dream last night. Thanks for everyone's input!

Our original RV mattress died in under one year full-timing. Eight years ago we had a local mattress company cut a 10" thick latex mattress to our template for corner bed in our 2005 International 25CCD. Then we added a soft topper to it, 'cause the latex mattress turned out to be much firmer than we'd remembered in bouncing on it in the little store.

If we could do over, we would try to find one around 6" thick and not so firm. The 10" thick is way heavier than we could have imagined. Just not something we thought to check, 'cause the original one was incredibly light.

On the upside, our bed is as good as any we've ever slept in anywhere. Eight years in on this mattress, we wouldn't give it up for anything (except a little lighter one.)

We just put in a Sleep Number Premium short queen radius corners at the foot. Very comfortable, light weight, and you can set the firmness on each side separately with a simple wireless remote. Perfect fit on the Airstream platform.

As the two air chambers will expand with a change of altitude, if driving up you will need to decrease the pressure and reset when you settle in for the night, a simple procedure.

Do you still like the mattress? It gets great reviews on Amazon. Did it fit without any issues in the flying cloud - short queen? Thanks
