Hi everyone -

We are working with Blue Gold For Life - water filtration company. People were curious about what rain water filtration system we will be using. Danny created 2 filters - one for the rain water to go through (coming off the roof down the side of the airstream) on it's way to the fresh water tank and one to attach to the outgoing water line as it leaves the fresh water tank on it's way to sinks, shower, etc. The rain water filtration includes a sediment filter, a carbon filter and finally a UV filter. Once it passes through this filter (mounted under the bed frame and accessed by the outside hatch) it will head to the fresh water tank. The second in line filter for water leaving the fresh water tank is a ceramic and carbon filter that will kill 99% bacteria and viruses. This is a precautionary measure as the water in the fresh water tank is assumed ok at this point but you never know what might be building up in the tank.

Danny is working on a grey water recycling filter that will allow the grey water to return to the fresh water tank. He is still in research mode. More to come and pics as well as soon as it's installed.

I read part of your website and look forward to following your story. BTW there is another person that started a thread next to yours today that is interesting also.

I am trying to launch a project My EcoVillage, a documentary series where we travel to established EcoVillages around the globe & share what we learn from the Bioneers in the EcoVillage movement.
Our dream is to travel in an Airstream but currently cannot afford to purchase one. Can anyone donate theirs to this meaningful project? You will receive credit on our website, myecovillage.tv and we can even include you in one of our webisodes!
Please contact me at gabriela@myecovillage.tv
Keep in mind that we need a VERY large Airstream 'cause there are 6 of us (at least) traveling.
Thank you so much in advance!
Gabriela

The filtration system sounds really awesome! I can't wait to see how it's implemented. Someday I hope I'm also able to do something like this.

@brocklives - thanks... pics will come soon. We are installing the floor and counter tops and having the couch reupholstered right now. Next is putting the bed frame back in and mounting the UV water filtration filters to the bed frame.

Howdy all - We are currently working with our cabinet sponsor to pick out the correct low VOC adhesive to use when applying the eco wood veneer. We learned from Airstream that the bulkhead doors (radius doors) are made from expanded polyurethane made by Jasper and the flat from cabinet doors are high pressure laminate. 3M makes a greenguard certified product that can be used to adhere the veneer to the cabinets. It's called 30-NF contact adhesive. It took a bit of research but now we have the product and the installer is beginning Friday. One step at a time . We are heading out full-time on 8/1. We can't wait.

I especially love your cabinet refresh. It looks great. The lack of bathroom walls is interesting, but I really like the shower door. Hopefully you'll be blogging your full time travels so we can follow along.

wow

Impressive. Both the design and execution. I see nothing but skills, vision, and lots and lots of heart poured into this project.

I most enjoy the open floor plan you've created. Very flexible with whatever happens. Clean, minimalist, modern, sleek. I love it. Well done.

Please drop me a line if your travels bring you into the Willamette Valley.

Hi everyone thanks so much. The one thing not pictured yet is the curtain room divider. There used to be an accordion door that went to another rv'er. We will be putting curtains in to divide the living space from the bedroom/bathroom space. This will offer a bit of privacy but it is still pretty open We are also building a work desk that will go against the wall so we can sit and work/use the computer. This will be made of kirei and is going in in the next month or two...

We will continue to blog and play and be sustainable... take care and would love to see you all out on the road somewhere.
