From Manhattan to the Airstream

Last month I moved out of a fairly nice apartment in Manhattan into my International 28, intending to roam the country for a few months with my dog.

Fortunately, my job situation allows me to travel pretty liberally, so this is actually turning out to be a pretty great experience -- nobody actually believes me when I tell them what I'm doing, until I show them photos.

Anyway, I'm chronicling the journey on www.chromenomad.com if anyone is interested in following along!

So far we've driven from PA to Malibu (a few nights in truckstops but otherwise straight through), and are currently bumming around Northern CA.. loving every minute of it!

Sounds normal to me. Take more pics - they'll believe you eventually and in the meantime will secretly envy your adventure.

Welcome on board

Hey CN, Welcome to your life.

I left Manhattan 9 years ago and have been on the road every since. No dog though.

Currently parked in the Anza Borrego desert.

The journey IS the destination!

Enjoy,

Michael

NYC vs. Airstream...Sounds like you're moving up in the world. Welcome to the forum, and keep the chronicles coming.

Regards,

Kevin

CN,
What in the world were you doing in Shoemakersville, PA? Man you were only about 2 minutes from where I live.

Nice blog by the way and add another envious Airstreamer to the list of people who wish they could be doing what you are doing.

Thanks everyone!

artstream- anza borrego looks great, going to have to head down there at some point.
deitz- I grew up in shoey, and that's where I staged my trip (parents' house) -- if you drove down 61 in mid January you probably saw it parked in the driveway near the old mohrsville road..
