I think 27 is perfect for us. Tows beautifully.

Full time launch date has been pushed back to april 2015, because we are expecting our second child. So need to stay close to our midwife and birth center.

Maybe I am one of a few, but my husband and I don't find the L-lounge uncomfortable. I bought a small ottoman to put our feet up on and it doubles as storage for dog toys and leashes. Not to mention, Charlie loves it!

Hey Wolfhound, I just saw your post from a month ago and will share my two cents though I am not a full-timer yet and have a 25'. I have spent time comparing the 25,27 & 28 foot models and will state that these three are more alike than not. The 27 and 28 are really both the same size per se- 2 feet longer than a 25' model. One foot is in the bedroom area used to turn the bed around from its side OR in a twin version, offer 1 foot of open floor space at the end of the beds. The bathrooms are alike. The other foot is counterspace and or cupboard space. So, any of those models will be close to the same although the 28 offers the extra seating with the side dinette. The twin models do offer more floor space, easier access to the lockers and the extra outside trucks. The 30' is where you'll see more changes and more room.

It is not an easy decision. I've shared on the forum about my father looking at Class A, Class C and Airstreams. His interest died out but now recently is revived as we are making a family "habitat" change in the near future. I too am trying to decide if 25' is right or one of those behemoth 42' buses with slides. I bought my 25' to be a home for 3-4 mths a year but did not plan for full time, at the time! Lots of thinking to do. One issue for me is a few heirlooms (furniture) that I do not know what to do with that are in the home. There is no one old enough yet to give them to and, a complicated story. Anyone out there have Port home experience?

Thanks, we bought it and proceeded to spend Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in it.

First at a campground in AL where we picked her up and then at Florida Caverns State Park. Was a blast.

I'm a fan of the interior aluminum. If I had the skill/time to restore an older one, I'd have to do aluminum inside.

It looks nice Bold. Congratulations. On the aluminum interior. Very nice. I am ok either way on the walls and windows. Airstreams seem to be terrific for towing.

So from what I'm seeing there are only a handful on here with experience full timing with family who chipped in an opinion. I Still say used market 31-34' models are the bees knees for mobile living ESPECIALLY with mobile kids. That's from experience actually living the dream and currently renovating my girl so I can get back to that lifestyle. It takes more tow vehicle to pull grades at altitude and highway speeds with a 34', but they actually tow with less drama than a tandem axle (again real world experience with both here) and have noticeably more braking ability per pound. People say they can't fit them anywhere, but the people saying that 99% of the time have never actually had one or tried.

A 25' has the essentials, but every foot beyond the essentials is added storage, personal space, and comfort to enable full timing with 2 kids. Using only the essentials is a great zen philosophy, but the essentials for growing active kids include private space for them as well as play space. Buying for two works until you wake up a few years later and realize you have four+!

If I ever finish my renovations on my 34' I'll have tons of useful storage, with two REAL kids beds, space for a 70lb dog, and that's not even weighing in the fact that 34' narrow bodies go for discount rates relatively speaking. Even if I didn't do the work myself, I could've bought the trailer, towed it to "name-your-rebuilder", paid for updated interior work, and still gotten more trailer for less $$$ than a newer tandem axle.

Don't fear the triple axle, especially with all that truck muscle.

A 34 with twin beds would be the absolute best for full timing because of the wardrobe and storage space. Full-timing in my 30 would be hard for lack of wardrobe space. A 31 with the side bath and bigger wardrobe and twin beds would be second best to the 34 for full timing.

I don't like the aluminum interior because it reminds me of living in a sterile lab room. I also wonder how warm the interior is when camping in colder weather, which we prefer to do.

Years ago we had two twin beds on each side of a SOB and it definitely felt colder when sleeping. I would think with aluminum next to you it would be worse. wolf146

After 38 years, I still don't sleep well without being near my bride. Call me a romantic....

Also, with a larger bed you can put a sick child in bed and keep tabs on them. Yeah they get sick as you know, but your immune system should survive.

Our 34 still seems small next to the "Jones' " when in an RV park.

If you pass the factory, the aluminum backsplash can be retro-fitted to your Classic. We had some friends do that to their 2013 Classic. Just make a reservation so they know the plan in advance.

Actually, with a high limit credit card, most anything could be done at the factory as reported here on the forums.

Not to worry about the aluminum interior not being warm in cold weather (which is routine for our camping season), it's nice and cozy. Otherwise I suppose it's personal preference like a lot of things. We wouldn't get an Airstream without it.

We are headed to the mother ship for service next week on Tuesday.
Chris Burch has already said they could put an aluminum backsplash in the bathroom.

I'm glad we put to rest that size doesn't matter and it's all about personal preference and tastes. And everyones experiences and needs vary. One size does not truly fit all.

That is the great thing about this country- we have choices and we can share our opinions.

Also, the great thing about this forum is that one can get all that information and use it to make informed decisions before buying a trailer.

It's a fine balance depending if you want to squeeze into alot of older National Parks. Yet I agree coming from a 28' extra space would be nice for our family of 3, 2 dogs, and cat. The bunkhouse model or even Panamerica might be next.
