Sounds like the Texas Aggie / Texas Tech / George Bush version: disneyfied.

But it's fairly well true about trucks. Closer to the oil/gas plays underway the more so.

Don't ever take off the hat by the way. Unless you are in the shower. Real Texas men sleep with their hats on and die with their boots on. That's because those boots are so dad gum hard to get off. Don't wear em if you are going through security at the airport. You will miss your plane just gettin' 'em off and back on again.

Now, you admit right off that you weren't born in Texas, so I'll cut you some slack, but a REAL Texan man who's at least moderately well-mannered takes his hat off indoors, ALWAYS. My grandfather (who had a winter Stetson and a summer dress Stetson and a work Stetson) never wore a hat indoors and was so rarely outdoors without one I can't picture it in my mind.

I have a F250 Turbo Diesel and find it no more difficult to drive than the F150 or GMC 1500. My fuel mileage is better with the F250 than I got with either of the others. Pulling a 31' AS with the diesel, especially in mountain areas, is a great advantage.
