There's a ton of good poop on this forum. Assuming you already have exhausted that source, I've also used the AAA camping guides with very good results.

I would like any suggestions for the best campgound sources, either magazine or internet sites.
I have used the USDA Forest Service Website frequently. Currently I get weird things that pop up... you might give it a try however. Lots of good information/maps on inexpensive out of the way places if you take time to look.
For sheer comprehensiveness, I use Woodalls.com when I want to blanket a whole area just to get a list of all of the campgrounds in the area. I then start to whittle it down from that list, first by looking for the parks that have websites with pictures, then those that don't look like a field and those that don't look like a bayou. And so on, and so on.
We utilize Woodalls as well and find their ratings to be 'right on' for our needs. They don't rate state parks but do describe them for the most part. A "Four W" rating from Woodalls is usually a very nice camping experience. State and National Parks are still our favorites and hard to beat for privacy and aesthetics in our opinion and judged by our limited experience. Good luck and Happy Trails
