Anyone would like to help me to remove or add items to my list?

2.5 month trip from Dallas (September 10) through western USA to Vancouver/Victoria/whistler (November 25)

Visiting national parks

Hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, rock climbing and backcountry tent camping.

One mom, one boy (10), one girl (7) and one male assistant/au pair/French teacher/travel partner

Airstream flying cloud 25 twin.

The MINIMUM things I need? Also try to double the things I use in the AS for backcountry tent camping.

I think you will need a couple of good coolers. One that is smaller, to hold a day's worth of food for outings. Preferably will hold a 2 liter bottle or bottle of wine standing upright. Try to find one suitable for sitting on so it can be used as an extra seat or foot stool.

At the least, a soft side insulated flat bottom zipper bag could serve this purpose. (the blue one that costs $7 at Trader Joes is most excellent. Be sure to get the flat-bottom one, (blue) and not the other one that is $6 (black with red handles but NO flat bottom). You will be able to freeze some of those "Blue Ice" packs in the AS freezer to use in the day trip bag.https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...act=mrc&uact=8

Second cooler would be large enough to hold extra food for some tent camping trips and lots of ice. If you have the means, the Yeti 45 is an excellent cooler. But as you won't be in the heat of summer, you may not find that necessary. If you didn't want to spend that much money, then something else about that size would be very useful.

Looks like a good list. You will probably find that you won't need or use nearly everything that you think you need before you leave. I've not done an extended trip myself but I will say that we ended up lightening up the load quite a bit for our shorter trips from what we thought we'd need even for week to two week long trips. If we are going to be in one spot for more than a couple of nights we do set up our 13' X 13' canopy and outdoor kitchen so we can spend time outside instead of in the trailer during the day. But this all really comes down to personal preferences and lifestyle. Enjoy your trip! Our motto is - as long as there is a Walmart, a grocery store, and an ace hardware close by we are in good shape!

You don't need all that stuff, if you need something there is a Walmart in almost every town,

extra long matches for lighting oven pilot light, if so outfitted
hair dryer.. useful also in case you get a frozen line somewhere
container/ bin/ basket about file box size for each kids' school stuff to get piled into... that stuff can quickly clutter up the whole trailer! not necessarily for organization, but to contain the "stuff"while on the road

If you have the money and space back home, you could take only those things that you absolutely know you need, and then run to Wal-Mart for whatever else you need. That will guarantee that you will have duplicates of some things, but on the other hand, if you aren't going to be selling everything and full-timing, you will have your Airstream stocked with dedicated items, so that you won't have to move stuff from the house to the coach the next time you want to go traveling.
