75' to sewer connection
Hey all,
I'm renting a place for about 6 months w potential for full hookups. The only issue is that the sewer clean out is about 75' away from the trailer itself. The good thing is that is down grade as the pitch is good for the flow when I empty the tanks. I can't really disturb the landscape so I'm trying to stay away from running a pipe up to the airstream.
I need to find some type of "fire hose" style hose where I can roll up like such and store when not needed. Then, when I need I empty the tanks, I would just connect my hose, roll it out to the drain and empty.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I would use, where to find, and what size fittings, etc i need?

Seem as though the Sewer Solution should work in that situation.

Have you considered a sewer solution system? You can portal waste through a 1 inch diameter PVC pipe. This isn't a roll up hose application but it is significantly smaller and less obvious than the standard stinky slinky.

Multiple connected sewer hoses. Or sewer to Suspended off ground PVC. Or mix of both.
For our stinky slinky I cut ridged landscape drain line lengthwise in half. It is rigid enough to support loads with minimal supports. Just spread the pipe and pop in the slinky and chock for support or use some sections of the accordion style support.

With a 75' run, the Sewer Solution is the most viable solution for this situation. The Sewer Solution flexible hose is only 1" in diameter and green in color. If necessary, it could be rolled up and put out fairly easily.

I would also vote for the Sewer Solution. As I recall it comes with 10' of 1" vinyl type hose with a slip on ferrule that accepts additional length hose. I think Lowes or Home Depot sells suitable 1" clear tubing by the foot off a roll. The length should not be a problem as you say it is generally sloped downhill. You may find it an advantage to taking the SS with you on your other trips in the future as I have found it very handy in those cases where the campground's dump port is uphill from the trailer's outlet.

Wow folks- thanks for the replies.
As for the SS...I see the hose is 1", is that sufficient diameter to allow waste to flow through?
Someone recommended I go to a pool supply place and get 75' of backwash hose and connect that with some fittings. And then I could roll that up like a fire hose.....what do u guys think?

Yes, the Sewer Solution handles all black tank waste very well. We have been using it exclusively for the last 5 years, during which we have camped in our Airstream for over 1,000 nights.

Sewer Solution recommends using 1" PVC pipe for long runs up to 100' but I would think a smooth 1" flexible hose would work as well.
It's a good, clean, compact system, have used it for over 700 camping days and it works as advertised.

Unlike a macerator, the SS uses city or pump water pressure (15 psi min) to inject a pinpoint jet of water into the Venturi housing that effectively liquifies any solids that are appropriate for the BW holding tank. The force of the jet is enough to maintain flow uphill through the 10' discharge hose, they claim 3' but I know from personal experience it will do at least 18".
Go to their website and look at the explanation and diagram of how it works. Their FAQ also claim 100' discharge on level ground and longer if it slopes downhill. On a downhill slope, I don't see a problem using a larger diameter discharge hose, but a 1" hose may be less expensive and easier to roll up and tuck out of sight.

A macerator pump is still an option. It only uses the water that's in the holding tanks; dump black water first, then gray water to clean the hose. Not as good as SS, but at least you don't have to add more water in order to discharge.

The OP says he has full hookups so water isn't an issue.

You most probably would not dump while boondocking until you get to a dump station, which has water.

Not necessarily true. We use ours routinely and successfully without an outside water source. Letting the black tank contents gestate and keeping the liquid to solids percentages in check makes a huge difference.
