I'm hosting at Ecola State Park for December. I still need to figure out how to post a picture. Stop by and visit and enjoy my view of the ocean with me!

Hi Anita! Is there realy a view from the park? We might just take you up on that! I could use another camping trip. Winter's already getting me down!

So, where all have you been hosting since we saw you last?

Ecola state Park is a day use park. The road here goes up a mile and a half, and is narrow and winding. The sign at the start says no trailers advised! I think I can have overnight guests, though, and I made it up with my trailer!

Wow! What a great picture to use in your Christmas cards. A very neat place and a neat time of the year to be there.

I love that place, in fact its my current screen saver. Was there last month for the Stormy Weather Festival in Cannon Beach. I'd come visit if I was up that way. I envy your views and tranquility but not the winds and cols weather this time of year. how long in advance did you have to put in for this camp hosting? Lighthouse picture is of Tillamook head Lighthouse, otherwise known as Terrible Tilly. Not even a nice place to visit as its now a columbarium.

OK you guys, you are ruining what was a perfectly boring and typical work day. Now I have the Oregon coast on my mind again. I hate when that happens and I can't just go hook up and head south. We love the area and try to get there whenever we can. But to know that you can just pop there any time you want - geesh that hurts. And then to taunt us with pictures, arghhhhh! They are great. Get the heart pumping and thoughts of camping going once again. I suspect an emergency trip for a couple of days between Christmas and New Years may be in order. Barry

Hi Anita-

We were just talking last night about a trip to the coast between Christmas and New Years. Has the weather been OK? Cold and wet is fine, but not ice and snow.

Does anyone know if all of Bevery Beach is open year round and if the services are on?

All of the coast State Park campgrounds are open all year. Sutton NFS, just North of Florence, is also nice, and some sites have electric and water. A loop at Sutton is open all year.

If any of you are still pondering visiting Anita a.k.a CoastalMe before the end of the year, then maybe a few photos will help with your decision. A couple of these are from the town of Cannon Beach, just south of Ecola State Park. Enjoy!!

Sorry Barry - I couldn't help myself

Wow! Thanks for sharing the pictures Brad. Beautiful! We do live in an incredible part of the world. Still trying to figure out how to write a proposal due in early January (why do people do that to us over the Christmas holiday - no heart I guess?) and get away for a few days.

leaving Thursday

I plan on leaving here Thursday, depending on the wind! My next post will be at South Beach State Park, South of Newport, Oregon. Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

Have fun, Anita. Be sure to let us know how the camping is wherever you land! I'm sure we'll manage to pull out and come down and visit sometime!
