New to Motorhome help

Hi all,

I have a 1997 34 ft Excella trailer and am in the process of purchasing a 30ft 1997 Cutter motor home. I drove the unit and it handled well, but seems to "float" down the road. I am wondering if this is normal or does it possibly need shocks. I must say I am used to a stiff ride as from a previous Porsche and an M3 BMW. I certainly don't expect that kind of performance, but am wondering if it needs shocks. The current owner is a truck driver so he is used to the ride.

One more think I noticed while driving it (actually two things.):

1) when accelerating or putting a load on the engine (460 Ford) the front air conditioner seems to cut off. I know this was done at one time to direct all energy to the drive train so maybe this is normal?

2) the generator was running the rear air conditioner and the generator seems loud. I know loudness can be subjective, but am wondering if the one in this rig is kind of loud?

Also, any comments on the particular model would be appreciated. Oh, the exhaust manifold has been replaced with an after market unit.

Thanks for any assistance!
