New To Group

Greetings,
I have loved Airstreams since around 1977. A buddy of mine had gotten one to live in. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. (and still do).
Bought and lived in my first trailer with my wife and 6 month daughter 22' Land Yacht, solid wood interior. I did some minor work; new toilet, couch, etc. We sold it and moved to Idaho in 1978. Prior to moving The local dealer suggested I could possibly get a job at the dealer in Idaho.

I did get the job, and was a certified Airstream Tech. (sent to AS school at the plant in Cerritos Ca.) I also bought another AS 1966 or '67 about a 26' we also lived in it. This trailer owner was a caravan member and had been really used, many trips to Alaska, it really was a POS. I worked on coaches all day to come home to my own issues with mine. I learned a lot and never lost my passion for RV's I have always a "fetish" about buses; Prevost, Silver Eagles, GM "scenic cruiser's), etc. I had hopes of a converting one in my lifetime. I am a musician and of course wanted my own tour bus. Converting a bus would be very time consuming and expensive.

Well, I decided to look for a motorhome about 3 years ago, I looked hard and heavy at motorhomes. After much consideration I decided on a class A,I was very picky, I knew what I wanted and didn't want. After 3 years of looking.
I found it; 1997 34' Cutter Bus, one owner, 29,000 actual miles, 454 Vortex with Banks Power pack. I chose gas, so I could do as much work. I have done the plugs which really looked like the original 20 year old plugs, but with low miles the previous owner figured they were fine? When I did my first oil change (to synth.) I did the plugs also. This coach is literally like new, everything!!!
The interior is beautiful, great floor plan, full rear queen bed. This coach does not have any slides (which is what we preferred) we are in Southern Cal. now from Boise. We have put almost 2000 miles in about 7 months. Every system works perfectly. I love features like 12v solar charger, skylights, outdoor shower, etc., etc., actually I love everything about this coach. It really does have a bus feel especially with the tag axle.
I am looking forward to being a part of this group. I don't know everything, but I do have about 40 years experience. Have owned and lived in 2 AS trailers, and 2 motorhomes(not AS) 3 counting the Cutter. We are going to be at least part time RV living and traveling. Part time "snowbirds"
I have questions about my rig that I would like to ask long time owners of these models. help with issues, and offer help when I can. Sorry about the long post. Your gonna' have to look hard to find a more passionate lover of all things RV.
Thanks

Welcome to the AF. Lots of good info has been posted over the years and is available by using the search. If you need help, best to ask about one problem at a time, and post pictures if possible.
As Murray Westgate would say, "Happy Motoring".

Welcome to AirForums. Great place for sharing and learning. This is the first place we look for tech info when faced with Airstream repair question.
