Mirror Back Splash Removal?

I remember reading on here that someone had removed the mirrors from the kitchen backsplash area, and I've searched for it with no luck.

If anyone reading this has done it, please let me know the procedure you used because I don't like the idea of breaking all the glass mirrors and then trying to sweep up all the glass.

Tape the mirror up and tape it to walk. Then use a heat gun all over till it pops away from wall.

I ll also search a bit.

Did you remove the mirrors in the kitchen area ?
I just purchased a 2000 360xc dp a few weeks ago. Wifes first idea was to remove them.
Maybe apply new one over it?
Let me know.

I just removed the mirrors on our 355xl. They are applied wit strips of double stick tape. I started on the end and used what I had, a framing square and slid if behind the mirror with enough force to separate the tape. I had minimal breakage, some came off in full pieces. The microwave had to be removed. We went back with peel anx stick backsplash. Less weight and more modern look. There was no damage done to the wall and cleanng off the remaining tape wasn't very difficult at all. We are very happy with the end result. Click image for larger version

Hood to hear how you did it. I have done the bathroom backsplash and was wanting to do the kitchen area. Woner about the gap since the stick on tiles I have a not as thick as the glass. Any problem?

The beveled mirror is thicker than the tile but i ran the tile into the groove in the corian splash thinking i would make up the difference with clear caulk but I never did it because it is barely noticeable. We've been replacing carpet with vinyl plank flooring and wallpapering the walls and putting a booth and new furniture and window treatments. Once we make our first trip since the renovations I'll know more how it all works out but getting rid of the mirrors definitely modernzed our 1999 Airstream. I'm sure there is a better tool than a framing square but it worked out ok minus a few blisters, lol. Good luck with your project. I think you'll be pleased with the results.

The slide worked out very good, i just started on that side and butted the planks up to the roller blocks mounted on the floor. I did have to make poster paper templates which made cutting the plywood subfloor and planks a lot easier to fit. I put the plywood down to get the height the same when butting up to the tile in the kitchen area. There was no way to remove the brass trim on the tile without destroying the tile so that was a little tricky but worked out well. It was the best part of our renovation because it expised some leaks we were having around the slde and windows. If you tackle it it really will be a fun project and well worth the results. Its a lot easier to keep clean. Good luck!!!Click image for larger version

365XC Interior remodel

Here's the link to our blog post on the interior remodel of our 365XC

https://herbnkathy.com/2017/12/12/in...eam-motorhome/

We also used a long thin putty knife to get behind each mirror panel and "tear" the adhesive tape to get it off the wall. We didn't remove the mirrors at the kitchen because they are actually installed behind the countertop .. we would need to remove the counter

Although in this video we recovered the window boxes, we have since replaced those boxes altogether with solid oak boxes made by local Amish
