recalls

Thank you Dave! my rig is in every one! are they still fixing them?????

question, motoring from amarillo, tx to albuquerque, with altitude rising from 3800 feet to 7000 feet...she wanted to get hot on one of the last long hills..
she flickered a check engine, but deillumitated and cooled right down when we pulled over to check my shorts, and obvious levels..any ideas?

Dometic recall --- go to their website for information. Yours may have been changed already??

The other Freightliner/Airstream problems you need to look at. I am not sure Freightliner would cover that, as it is the Airstream structure that is the problem.

On those long hot hills, gear down and keep the revs around 2000RPM. Do not stop the engine when it is hot unless absolutely necessary. Best to keep that air and water moving.
The problem with the newer computer controlled engines is that they will shut down without your input.

Another old trick is to turn on your two heaters and add them to the rad cooling capacity.

Cutter recalls

Dave

I called Air Stream about the recalls. They sent me the notices
they sent to dealers. These are very unclear. I ask if they had any
pictures of the finished repairs, they did not. I just wanted to
determine if the repairs were made on mine or not.

I guess now I have to find a AS dealer that has made the repairs
and ask them.

Just an aside, It seemed to me that Air Stream customer service
is not very interested in Motor Homes not that they are no longer in
the business, - a shame for a company with such a good name.

bob

PS if anyone knows of a AS dearer that has made the repair
please let me know.
