Class A, Clipper, Cutter, Land Yacht, Sightings

A thread for those of us on the road that see other Airstream Class A glass units at our stops or in passing.
I see a similar thread for the Classic aluminum Motorhomes, so this is for the Class A glass owners!
If you are "SPOTTED" you are requested to ackowledge!
I can start it off with a Class A sighting going east on I-90 today about 7PM today. We were heading west about 5 miles before Rochester, Minnesota. The good looking Class A unit was probably a 2002 or newer, grey and white, and pulling a car. It had the last headlight style used by Airstream.
By the time (divided highway) I seen that it was an Airstream, it was to late to flash the lights. Tried CH21 on the CB but no response.
Dave

Doing a bit of research I think it might have been BFred?

"If you are "SPOTTED" you are requested to ackowledge!"

Easier said than done, we watch but seldom see a AS Class A, however we can spot a twinky couple of miles out, maybe we need a AS spotters guide.
The CB is a good idea but ours has never been hooked up due to foul language when we used one years ago.

I frequently see more Airstream class A glass MH's than the older aluminum style around mid-Michigan. Nice thought Dave, I will start making more of a mental note, and report. Randy

Spotting, Glass Motorhomes

Good news:
There still seems to be a few of the Class A models on the road.
Two more newer Class A's sighted on I-90 heading east about an hour apart on the 18th. Both were pulling toads.
The latter one was just east of Presho, SD, about 7PM, and was earthtone colors and pulling a SUV.
Presho, SD, United States - Google Maps
Also on the 21st, we met a late 90's model CUTTER pusher, with toad, about 20 miles east of LOOKOUT PASS, near Exit 28, about 4:45PM.
47.43639,-115.678911 - Google Maps
The hills here are not too bad, but there always seems to be a rough spot at the bottom on the short corners.

We did not see any Land Yacht's on this "DISCOVERY VOYAGE" of 7150 miles, which covered 6 Provinces, and 8 States.

The CLIPPER, again, did a wonderful job in keeping us comfortable, and relaxed, so that the sights could be appreciated when we got to our destinations. Highlite of the trip was SD hospitality. This state is set up for RV's more that any other we have visited.
Keep watch and report, and we hope there wiil be more interest in "SPOTTING" over time.

Dave

Spotted

BFred has informed me that it was NOT his unit I spotted in Minnesota. He was in MI at the time.
That means there is another unidentified Class A loose in the NE.
Maybe these "CLASS A" AIRSTREAM MOTORHOME owners never have a problem with their units and never have to go online for info?????

Driving west of Midland Mi. on Pine river Rd spotted a LandYatch parked in a driveway. Don't know if it was a visitor or lived there. I would say it was a 1993 or 94, nice looking unit, didn't have my camera with me to take a picture.

I did not know they built this Class A "flat face" Cutter on a 3 axle. Has anyone seen this or others??? On a P30 chassis I believe?

1996 AIRSTREAM CUTTER
VIN: 3FCMF53G8TJA07688

I have seen many of the more sloped windshield version. This was for sale in Lakeland FL

Cutter, Land Yacht

Saw this today locally.
Talked to the gent and it is a 98 on a 3 axle Ford Chassis, 460 power. Has not been used for a couple years?? as his spouse has been ill.
Looks in great shape, with some minor decal lifting.
Having the info on this one, I presume the above post of the flat face Cutter, is also a Ford Chassis, not a Chev?
Phone camera is not that good.

Today, Friday, approx. 5:30 PM, a 98 or newer, Cutter pusher, going north on Nanaimo Parkway with no toad.
I was not close enough to the intersection to ID a plate.
Good to see these units being used for what they were designed.
We had just retuned from an overnite Alberni trip. Again trouble free and ready to go again.
"Get out and GO"
The best plan is get as much use out of your unit as you can while you still able. They will deteriorate just sitting in the yard.
These Class A chassis "Diesel Pushers" will go 1/2 million miles without major repair if properly maintaned. If you only put on 10,000 miles a year it is going to be 50 years before you even have to start thinking of overhaul.
GO, GO, GO.
Dave

There you go, three for the price of one.

Seward AK about a month ago.

Green Cutter is ours, other cutter(suffering same window gasket problem) owned by a charter boat owner who spends summers in Seward.
