Changing my own oil on 2001 land yacht dp

I just purchased this diesel pusher it needs an oil change and I would like to recalibrate the dipstick. So here is the question, can I change the oil myself and if so how do I manage all that oil?
Thanks

Go to your local NAPA. If they don't have it in stock they can order, next day, large oil drain pans. Some even have rollers on them. It's not really that hard to deal with. If you are near a truck parts supply they also can help you.

Good luck, Dan

While you're at the auto parts place, pick up a 5 gallon diesel (yellow) container to hold the drained oil; trying to pour the 14 quarts our Powerstroke uses from the large, warm drain pan into four one gallon containers is a pretty good way to create a mess. Ask me how I know .

Before you buy the oil make sure the auto parts store can take your old oil, most have a recycling tank but some of our local ones claim it is full and I should bring back another day. pia. since it was a special trip out to dump it.

If you are in an area with farms go to your nearest farm store and you will find a selection of big, cheap oil drain pans and various ingenious yet inexpensive alternatives for managing 5+ gallons of dirty, hot engine oil.

They will also have engine oil suitable for diesel use in 2.5 gallon jugs which is much more convenient than quarts when refilling a large engine. Be sure it has the API rating you need as those places do sell some product with older additive packages.
