Basement storage compartment hinge lubrication.

I am trying to find the best lubricant for the basement storage compartment hinges.

I tried regular good old oil and got streaks running down the doors. I am afraid if I use the silicon lube I’ll have silicon running down the doors and messing up the finish.

Any ideas?
