Backup Camera

Hey folks. I've searched the website and don't see any information (but can't believe I'm the first!).

The OEM rear camera appears to be stuck and doesn't move with the rocker control switch in the cabin. Before I go and mess it up beyond all recognition, has anyone ever disassembled one of these or have advice on what might be binding the camera please?

Mine does not work either. I just upgraded to color and side cameras. I checked the activator which works I I have to do more work on the switch now.

Aisle lights

Say, while we are comparing what works and doesn't (my backup does work and tilts up and down fine):

Do you guys have more than one light when you turn on the Aisle Lights switch on the dash? I have one light that lights up just in front of the bedroom. Are there other lights? I read the manual from cover to cover and just finished reading the Parts List for the Sky Deck from cover to cover. There is no direct reference to this feature.

Oh, I am missing a cover of a clearance light too, Airstream told my dealer they no longer support parts for this old a vehicle. Any thoughts?

@israndy: when I turn on the aisle lights, I too have a light at the foot of the bed and an aisle light just at the top of the steps leading into the MH.

For airstream parts, I have had good luck with Sonny's.

As far as the aisle lights go, there should be three, one at the front stepwell bulkhead, one on the forward refrigerator bulkhead, this may be different on the Skydeck because you have the stairs going to the roof there, and one in the bathroom area. Clearance light front or rear ? Airstream did not make them, you could try Inland, Out-of Doors Mart or Vintage. Regards, Bob

Thanks, there is a fixture in the entry steps that looks like the one that is lit in the back so I am probably missing a bulb. The refrigerator on the non-bunk or non-business version of the Sky Deck should have the same location as the stock 390 so I will check out that area again looking for another fixture with a burned out bulb.

I did get Inland and Vintage as references from my local Airstream dealer, I added Out-of Doors to my list of goto places. I need to climb up with a ladder as I cannot get close from the roof to the clearance light to be sure which one it is. Gonna have to get a telescoping ladder to clean this thing as it is much taller than I am. My old RV only needed the ladder to clean the roof, now I can just go up and sweep the roof, no problems, but I cannot reach the top of the sides on this RV. Fun!

Taking it to the DMV tomorrow, gonna pay registration and taxes! Yay!

It's ICC/blink, it turns your parking lights on and off....it's a way of signaling another driver "thank you" for letting you know you have cleared them from the passing lane and it is OK to pull back into the right lane.

I.E. if someone passes you and you see they are well clear of you and can get back into your lane you flash your headlights, off at night and on during the day. ICC/blink will turn your clearance and parking lights off at night, but I have yet to go outside during the day to see if they flash on when they were already off. Probably not.

I have already make the mistake of turning the headlight switch to off, but since I have daytime running lights I end up flashing the ICC not the headlights. Need to get that habit in my brain.

Pole lights

I wanna start a new thread, but this one seems on the right track:

Did your Sky Decks come with the pole lights? Mine did not, but I was at West Marine yesterday and they seem pretty common. I actually only saw one SkyD that had them in the photos, but I discovered an outlet on the wall around the deck in the same location where the pole lights were in that photo.

If you do have them, where do you keep them? What are they for? Just like electric Tiki lights? From these photos it appears there are 4 places to install them, perhaps white in front and back and green on the port and red on the starboard?

Actually, while asking about the Sky Deck, did anyone get the emergency ladder? Peter, I know you did, can I get a close up photo of what's in the box. I may wanna re-create what I should have gotten some day...

Yes I got the tiki lights. I do not have the emergency ladder from the top. I got a box almost above the driver and I assume it is where the ladder supposed to be. I keep for now the lights at the ladder box.

Not me mine does not work either I checked the actuator in the rear that works if I apply 12V.
Need to do more investigation but have more important problems.
