Air bags

My air bags are loosing air after about a day.
Is this normal or do I have a leak and need to fix it.

The XL390 Skydeck has 4 air bags. I seams OK and sits even but after about 1 or so I notice it settles down.
I have a switch to Lower and it dumps all the air out of the bags. I guess I need to get underneath and do a little investigation.

So how long should the air system stay inflated? I do have issues with my brake system so probably related. It takes about a minute before I can drive as the system is airing up. I got stuck once at a light when the brake switch popped and didn't get enough air to push it until the light was yellow.

But I always think of diesel RVs sitting low. So either people always remember to vent the system when they park or they all just sink during their time with the engine off. I never really thought about how long they should stay up.

I assumed if I can lower it with a switch it should not lower on its own.
My air system for the brakes which I assume is connected just got a little over 100psi. If I step on the brake 4 or 5 times hard I loose air pressure to the point that my low air pressure alarm comes on which is below 60psi.
The pressure goes in 3 days down to 65 psi.
Not sure if that is all normal?

I think you need to look seriously at your air system.

You should not have the problems mentioned.

This is a pre-trip routine for any air equipped vehicle. It is readily available from any State or Provincial web site. I just picked the first one that came up.

For your own safety and other users on the road, I recommend your system be looked at by a professional, if you cannot pinpoint the specific problem on your own.

You are loosing air when the brake system is charged. I would suspect a bad 'MAXI" brake pot on the rear axle. You should be able to hear that if you chock the wheels, charged the air system, shut off the engine, and listen in the area of the rear axle.

Note: these "MAXI" pots are spring loaded and extremely dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Just have the shop replace them if needed. They are not expensive.

The air suspension leakdown is probably just a slow leak at a fitting, or on one of the lines close to the engine, that is exposed to high heat. Use a spraybottle with soapy water to track the leaks down.

I had the rig twice now at the Freightliner service facility and ask them every time to check the brakes.
Yes safety I a concern and I don't know really what I am doing so I would always have the professional look at.
The last Freightliner service in Ft. Worth I am not sure about they are real professionals.
According to the test it works fine. My alarm comes on below 65psi and it shows usually about 110psi when the engine is running.
The brakes working fine or as I would expected with 30000lbs.
I have an appointment at Freightliner direct in SC and will have them look at it again.
