96 cutter

Please help! We found a small leak on our oil filter. It was thought to come from powersteering pump or lines. Took it to local motorhome shop. Waited for diagnosis. They said our powersteering pump was bad. We were told the part was hard to find. Not good. We were told the part had to be sent out to a shop to be matched up....response.... this part would have to come from Germany. Cost? 1,015 dollars???? Does this sound correct? I am beside myself. Ford 460 engine.
We have a trip planned in about 10 days....obviously we want all systems go...however...all we are seeing at this point is our $$$$ going.
