What to do with the roof?

I just spent the morning washing the roof and the rest of the MH in preparation for a good detailing/wax job. My question is -- now that I have a very clean roof, is there something I should put on it it UV protect it ? And if so, what. Thanks for any and all reply's.

What is it made of?

And it must be nice to be able to wash in February, I just watch the black streaks.

I believe it's a fiberglass roof. And yes it's great to have 55-60 degree weather in Feb. Of course that's one of the reasons I live in SC.

Gel Gloss or wax, what ever you use on the sides. They could probably do it when they do the body.

They! Who's They? They would be me... And let me tell you these things get a lot bigger when you start to clean them... But then again what else have I got to do other than play golf, go fishing, biking, and oh yeah the weeds are starting to come out so I have to spray for them too. It's gonna be 72 on Tuesday...

My mistake, but I don't feel that bad after you rubbing your temperature in. It is going to snow here tomorrow, again.

Now you are just being mean. It would take me about a month to slowly acclimate to 82. Once I did though......

The cold is why I moved from Rochester Hills, MI to Fort Worth, TX . . . just tell me when the last of the snow is gone so I can move back.

Ah, Texas in the summertime!
"No need to turn on the stove, honey. We can fry our eggs on the sidewalk!"
I remember being in Nuevo Laredo in October for work. It was so hot that my sweat was sweating!
I love it down there in January, but I will gladly deal with our winters here in Michigan to take those easy summers!"....

After being cold most of my life, in Ohio, the 95 degree summers down here in Florida feel good! When it's too cold in July to ride your motorcycle....................

The Roof Problem

There isn't much you can do to "treat" the roof. Try your search engine and put in "Filon". Its the brand name of the fiberglass roof. Made by Kemlite which is a Crane Company. Yours is a textured roof with the trade name of "sungard Flexroof. Its a polyester/styrene copolymer resin with fiberglass staple in the bat mix. You can clean it like regular fiberglass but since its a "embossed" textured surface it will be hard to coat with something to help keep it clean. I've talked to the tech group at Filon but not gotten much help. Maybe you can do better. They have a whole lot of downloads on their web site and you may find some useful information on keeping it clean. My Land Yacht is a 95 and the black junk gets in the cracks of the texture and is a bear to clean. I plan on soda blasting the entire roof later this year and then painting it with a good Imron urethane enamel to help fill some of the texture and then it will much easier to wash, wax, etc. and keep clean. I will need to reglue some of the edges first so I'm holding off for a while. I'm in Aiken, S.C. and the weather just isn't right for now. Maybe by early May after the Master's is over and it hasn't gotten real hot yet. Just lots of work and not much money for parts. Lots of luck with the roof.
