TrackBar
Hi Folks
I have built a trackbar for my ASLY2000 on a 1999 P32 chassis which uses the Dana differential. Attached are some photos of the bits and pieces and a hand drawn plan which I used to construct it. Haven't had a chance to test it out on the road as my ASLY is now mothballed for the winter. The pieces were cut from 3/8" stock using a plasma torch and welding done with a MIG torch. The drawings show dimensions in both inches and metric. As well as the nuts and bolts needed. I used star lock washers for the differential bolts and nylon lock nuts for the others. For the mounting I used, the bar is 14" long and 16" from eye to eye for the heim ends giving a measure of adjustment. The rail end is streetside. The images are from a position on your back looking up. Notice the notch on the rail end plate, this accommodates a piece in the rail so that the plate slides in correctly and faces aft. The only critical part is the attachment piece to the differetial. I made a mockup from some very thin plywood and installed that to check the dimensions for the diff bolts. I'll be happy to give more info if needed. The drawing is on a 1 ich grid subdivided into tents of an inch paper. Also note that the Diff plate slides in behind the brake lines and is a snug fit.
Regards
Steve
