Tires

We have a 1993 Airstream Legacy 30 footer.

Starting to shop for new tires. for the rear (fronts new this year before I bought it)

The rear currently has 8R 19.5 size it.

Will the new 225/70R19.5 fit my rear duels with stock wheels?

Good question. We also need 6 new tires (8 years old, but look new) for our garage kept Land Yacht DP.

Yes they fit. I replaced mine all the way around front and back years ago. They are a little smaller top to bottom so the coach sits a little lower, but the wider tires ride smoother. This also effects the speedometer, the dash reading will be 5mph faster than your really going.

So no issues with duals rubbing?

I had read it was questionable putting the newer tires on the older wheels.

I’d love the better ride of the wider tires on ours though..

Paul, I replaced all my tires with Hancook 245/70R 19.5. As of today they have been rotated once and have about 20,000 miles on them. Still not showing any wear or sidewall cracks.

Would be interesting to know if the 225's would fit and or make a difference.

Btw.....might be going to Alaska this summer if things work out.
