Question Seam leak? near door

I have a 30-ft Land Yacht with a leak just to the left of the entrance door. I sealed the seam where the roof meets the side panel. However, some water is still getting in and running down, soaking the bottom of the padded kickwall of the dinette. (Inside the kickwall is lots of wiring.) I also took off and caulked inside the Airstream handle in case that was where the water was getting in. But it was not. In searching further, I looked up under the awning. The metal bracket that holds the roof panel to the wall has a seam. Apparently, the metal did not come in long enough lengths to run the entire length of the rig. Anyway, the two pieces of the bracket are abutted right above where the leak is occurring, so I'm thinking that is where the water is getting in. If anyone has had an issue like this, can you give any advice on sealing it - short of taking the RV to a dealer and having them remove the awning? Thanks. George

George, I haven't had a leak from the awning, but are you sure thats where the leak is coming from? The awning is installed afterwards ,so where the two pieces of brackets come together should be a surface mount.Unless there are some holes drilling through the brackets that weren't sealed properly ,I wouldn't think where the two brackets meet would be a problem on the inside. Don't you have a window also right there by the dinette? I have experienced leaks from seals around windows and doors though, you might want to double check them. Randy
