Rear Camera

So What do you think of this: bought a color backup camera for around 100.00 from costco. 5-1/2" monitor, wireless camera. Removed the center rear roofline marker lite, used the feed to power camera, made a mount out of a piece of 1/4 thick aluminum drilled to match original holes. 2 threaded holes & 2 10-30 ss screws to mount camera. Screwed & dicor sealed to body. Turn on running lites to power cam, monitor off switch in dash. can see from my hitch back maybe 100' w/cam pointed down on lowest setting. Brand of cam is Yada.

Mine is two weeks old & love the rear view on the interstate, even more so than backing into a RV camp site. Money well spent. Mine is a Voyager digital camera.

Excellent idea of using the center marker light as a mount. I just picked up a double din Kenwood stereo with gps and wired backup camera. Some folks have had good luck withy wireless video; mine has been terrible.

So far I have scoped out a video cable run into the coach in the upper rear cabinets, over to the driver side, into the head adjacent to the heating duct behind the vanity, and to the service area behind the fridge (via the service panel outside). Prolly going to have to drill a hole to get under the sink and forward.

Any pics of the view with the wireless cam?

ID:	261995some pics; camera was an easy install, monitor will feed off old TV sound rocker switch & mount where radio was. Amps go where TV was ,Subwoofer where almost useless cabinet over doorway was, New speakers front & rear. I'm making a unit on a hinge that will house the Dvd/radio/cd/bluetooth head unit plus XM reciever & a power shelf for phones & misc charging & will cover amps & space from TV. Don't know why they came out upside down...sorry..Gary

Yours should be the same as mine. That grey video cable should run from the bedroom tv to front. But the wireless seems fine. My Pioneer has a pop out screen & hookup for a back up cam but I wanted to use wireless w/ its own screen. I have a wiring diagram in my book of the tv & stereo if you dont.

Hope this is clear enough. I turn the cam on by turning the running light switch & turn the receiver on with the old TV sound switch.

BTW this setup is 2.4ghz dedicated Bluetooth digital so no analog interference. They lock only on to each other.
